Jessica Kagan Cushman - jessicakagancushman.com:
Jessica Cushman bracelets are filled with wit, wisdom, and serious fun. Marion is so proud to have the funky bracelets in her store. You can visit the JKC website, but please come back to Austin-ford to purchase! Here's a little bio on how Jessica creates the original pieces that these bracelets are molded from:

Having learned scrimshaw from her father, who took up the craft in the 1960's in Nantucket, Jessica has taken the artform to a new (and slightly un-orthodox) level - creating scrimshawed antique ivory bracelets that lie somewhere between a tattoo and a bumper sticker. Historically practiced by sailors on long journeys hunting for whales, scrimshaw traditionally depicted whaling scenes, ships, women and scenes copied from magazines of the day. Jessica takes quotes and phrases, from movies, literature and in some cases, New York graffiti and transcribes them via scrimshaw onto fossilized wooly mammoth ivory bracelets - combing a venerable traditional craft with wry, modern wit.

Whitney Marbach - whitneymarbach.com:
Austin-ford gift shoppe is proud to introduce the newest line of accessories to our store: Whitney Marbach WAM bands. These stunning resin bracelets are a design creation of Whitney Marbach of San Antonio, Texas. Marion personally chatted with Whitney while visiting Texas in May. She is a recent graduate of The University of Texas who did her internship in New York with Harpers Bazaar. At 3.5" wide, these bracelets are definitely a piece of "statement" jewelry. They are fun to wear alone or piled upon themselves or other bangles. Warning: Do not think you will wear one without being stopped with comments on your arm candy!!! Whitney retails these pieces on her website for $120.; however, we are making them available to our customers for $90. See the entire collection of Whitney Marbach at her web site. We have limited quantities of the following colors: black, bone, black with bone accent, pink, gold.

Glovables - gloveablesinc.com:
These rubber gloves truly are a women's dream come true. Not only do they look fun, funky, and functional, they also help out a people in a far away land….Cholutecca, Honduras is a rural city with approximately 50,000 residents. There are very limited employment opportunities and the depth of poverty is staggering. Upon visiting Cholutecca the first time, the executives from Grandway Honduras, the company which manufactures Gloveables, fell in love with the people and their sincere desire to have a job and take care of their families. A meeting was held with some of the community leaders, wherein it was expressed over and over again that all these people wanted was a chance or opportunity to work. After evaluating the needs, resources and sincere desire of the community workforce, they committed to investing into a sewing factory. austin-ford loves both the gloves and the fashion in which the Gloveables company is able to help a people in a way that gives them pride and self respect. You'll love them too! See their web site for more photographs of their beautiful product.

Religious Folk Art Ornaments

Imported from Peru and Mexico our ornaments can be hung in the home all year round. These hand crafted pieces are rich in the history and faith of generations of people of this culture. The RETABLOS are mini three dimensional pieces which depict holy events. Some of our ornaments depict the Virgin of Guadalupe, beloved symbol of the Mexican people. Tradition holds that she appeared to Juan Diego on the hill of Tepeyac outside Mexico City. The MILAGRO folk crosses contain representations of symbols of prayer aids and petitions for protection.
